In a finishing touch gesture to the drought preventive measures, SSM has set on the huge plantation programme on the banks of rejuvenated irrigation canals with a preset target of 2 lakh trees. The volunteers of SSM have sown the seeds of various useful, high yielding trees on both the sides of the Siddhappa canal, throughout its length of 6 km.
Once
the trees grow, they are expected to prevent soil erosion apart from yielding
fodder, fruits, timber, and medicinal remedies to the villagers.
